Our approach.

Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a trauma-focused therapy and recognized as one of the “gold standards” in trauma treatment. It helps you process trauma by identifying and challenging the negative thoughts and beliefs that have developed as a result of your experiences. Together, we’ll explore how these beliefs influence your emotions and behaviors, and work to reframe them, allowing you to adopt a healthier, more balanced perspective. By shifting your thought patterns, CPT empowers you to regain a sense of control and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

Prolonged Exposure (PE) is another “gold standard” trauma-focused therapy that helps you confront trauma-related memories and situations that you may be avoiding, in a safe and controlled way. Together, we’ll gradually work through these distressing memories and triggers, reducing their emotional impact over time. By facing these fears, you’ll learn that they no longer define your present life, allowing you to reclaim your sense of safety and no longer feel held back by the past.

Written Exposure Therapy.

Written Exposure Therapy (WET) is a trauma-focused, therapeutic approach that involves writing in detail about your trauma experience, exploring the emotions, thoughts, and images connected to it. This process helps externalize your feelings, reducing their control over you. By putting your trauma into words, WET can help you better understand and process your emotions, allowing you to regain a sense of control and distance from the past. This approach is especially helpful who find it difficult to express emotions verbally, offering a safe and manageable way to work through painful memories. Over time, WET helps create a healthier narrative about your past experiences.

Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation.

Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), is a therapy that helps you build skills for managing emotions and improving relationships. It focuses on understanding how trauma affects your emotional responses and interactions with others. STAIR provides strategies for regulating intense emotions, and teaching effective communication skills to navigate relationship challenges. By strengthening your emotional and social skills, STAIR helps you feel more in control of your emotional responses and enhances your ability to connect with others in healthy, supportive ways.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping you embrace difficult emotions instead of avoiding or suppressing them. Instead of trying to eliminate pain (which often leads to even more distress), ACT focuses on identifying core values and taking purposeful action towards them, even with even when anxiety, stress, or other challenging emotions arise. ACT empowers you to live authentically, without letting the past experiences control your present or future. It helps you regain control over your life and move forward in a way that is aligned with what truly matters to you.
